Event Description: Joint Area Cataract Operation Project with Shankara Eye Foundation Ladies Circle India had tied up with Shankara Eye Foundation where rural eye check up camps are conducted, patients are brought back to the hospital, cataract surgeries performed and are dropped back to their respective villages on day 3.

Cost of surgery – ₹5000 per cataract surgery Grant available because of tie up – ₹3500 Hence we paid only ₹1500 per cataract surgery. Each table/circle contributed ₹5000 and were able to give clear vision to 50 patients wherein the total project cost is ₹250000 but our
contribution remained at ₹5000 per table and circle.

Event Location: Killur, Mangalore

Event Description: 17th August – Chairman Tr Sandeep D’silva again took initiative to help the students of a local Government school in Killur. 20 Children were identified and provided School bags and Books. These students had lost their School bags and all the books due to the floods. Even with such Natural Disasters Education should not be hampered !! Education is Freedom !!
Cost of the project was Rs 11,000.

Event Description: As a part of flood relief drive on 16th August a combined project between MRT 115 and MLC 82 was able to collect groceries and clothes for the flood affected areas and handed over the same to the District Administration. Total Cost was rs. 20,000.

Event Location: DK ZP Higher Primary School

Event Description: We celebrated Independence day at our adopted DK ZP Higher Primary School, Flag hoisting was done by area corporator alongside Area Chairman Tr Vinod Pinto and MRT 115 Chairman Sandeep D’silva. This was followed by a speech to all the children showcasing the importance of the day. Breakfast was distributed to all kids/teachers and parents present. Cost of this was Rs, 10,000.

Event Location: Kanara Club, Mangalore

Event Description: We held our first social of the year in Kanara Club at an Independence day Eve Celebration organised by ex tabler Naveen. MRT 115 supported this event as Tr Naveen has supported the table in his capacity as the President of CREDAI mangalore with donations to our projects.

This event was fun filled with all tablers and circlers coming together alongside all the twinklers swaying to the music played by well known live band Sea Seven. This event was also attended by many 41ers.

This social was hosted by the Table.

Event Description: Year after after for the last seven years Mangaluru is a destination where the participants in the Mumbai Xpress Rickshaw Challenge make a pit-stop here in the City.

Mumbai Xpress Rickshaw Challenge 2019 is a unique adventure on auto rickshaws with participants fromacross the globe like UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, France, IceLand, Finland, Canada, Italy, Spainand Switzerland take part in this adventure.

Like previous years MRT 115 was invited to Flag off the challenge.
